Do you own a COSMIQ or COSMIQ+, or are you interested in Tethys app?
I would be happy to hear from you, especially if you still use a COSMIQ dive computer and would be interested in providing device information or helping test Tethys app.
Information about your COSMIQ
If you own a COSMIQ or COSMIQ+, it would be useful to know:
- Your COSMIQ or COSMIQ+ model
- Hardware generation, if known
- Firmware version shown in Sync Mode
- Maximum number of dive logs the device can store, if known
- Whether the device has Gauge Mode or Bottom Timer Mode
- Your Android phone model
- Your Android version
- Whether the original Deepblu app is still installed or working
- How you currently download or manage your dive logs
- Whether you would be interested in helping with testing
Tethys app is currently developed and tested primarily with a COSMIQ+ Gen 4 running firmware 1.8. Information from owners of other hardware generations and firmware versions would be particularly valuable.
Do not worry if you do not know which generation you have. Photos of the device, its Sync Mode screen, the firmware version or information from the original packaging may help identify it.
Testing Tethys app
I am looking for COSMIQ and COSMIQ+ owners who may be interested in testing Tethys app as development progresses.
You do not need to be a developer or have any knowledge of Bluetooth protocols. Testing with real COSMIQ hardware and different Android devices is what matters.
The full Tethys app has not been publicly released yet. Testing will be arranged gradually as the project becomes ready for additional devices.
Tethys Probe
You can also help by running Tethys Probe without testing the full Tethys app.
Tethys Probe is a separate read-only Android diagnostic application. It connects to your COSMIQ, reads available device information and creates a report that you can inspect before sharing.
Tethys Probe does not change settings or write data to your dive computer.
Download Tethys Probe from GitLab
When sending a diagnostic report, please include the Tethys Probe version, your Android phone model and your Android version.
Bugs and compatibility reports
If you are already testing Tethys or Tethys Probe and something is not working, please describe:
- What you were trying to do
- What happened instead
- Whether the problem can be reproduced
- Your COSMIQ model or generation
- Your COSMIQ firmware version
- Your Android phone model
- Your Android version
- The Tethys or Tethys Probe version
Screenshots, diagnostic reports and photos are welcome when they help explain the problem. Please review diagnostic information before sending it.

Please use one of the following email subjects:
- Tethys Probe report
- Tethys app beta testing
- COSMIQ compatibility information
- Tethys app bug report
You can also contact me if you have technical documentation, compatibility information, old COSMIQ software, manuals, firmware information or other material that may be useful to the project.
Not interested in testing?
That is completely fine.
If you still use a COSMIQ or COSMIQ+, I would also simply like to know that you are out there. Knowing which generations and firmware versions are still being used will help determine where Tethys app development should go next.
Thank you for helping keep COSMIQ hardware useful.
Tethys app is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Deepblu or the original COSMIQ+ manufacturer.
